The crickets make music
in deep earnest passion;
as the night slumbers
in a blanket of mist
that devotedly awaits the
dawn of a new day.
Much like my own spirit,
for unlike the night
my heart refuses to rest
as I eagerly look forward
to be gifted by your presence
after a decade of solitude.
The glance you has shared
all those years ago.
The silent words that had
then left your soul;
reached mine with a message
so loud and so clear
